Teacher of World Arts and Cultures and English B / Creative Activities and Outreach Coordinator, UWC Adriatic
Maria, from Italy, is the teacher of World Arts and Cultures, a school based syllabus developed at UWC Adriatic. She also teaches English B, coordinates the creative activities and the school’s outreach programme. She rejoined UWC Adriatic in 2012 as a teacher after having graduated in 2004. She spent the years away from Duino in the UK, where she got a BA in Social Anthropology, Art and Archaeology at School of Oriental and African Studies and a MA in Museology at the University of East Anglia. She worked in museum education managing the schools' program and above all organizing special activities for preschool children, people with disabilities and refugees. Her passion is to make the arts relevant and accessible to as many people as possible.
