Head of UWC ISAK Japan
Roderick is UWC ISAK Japan’s founding head of school and the Vice Chair of the UWC International Council. He holds a BA degree from Morehouse College and an MA degree from Tennessee State University. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Roderick first came to Japan in 1992 as a member of the Japanese Exchange Teaching Programme. After an 8 year tenure at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego, he returned to Japan in 2013 to help lay the foundation for what would become UWC ISAK Japan. Determined to live the mission and vision of the school on a daily basis, Roderick works with the entire community to foster respectful, collaborative and creative young people in a setting with a rigorous curriculum and a variety of leadership opportunities.
